There is a sign up poster on the bulletin board in the preschool area hallway. Please sign up ASAP if you would like to help with VBS this year. Right now the plan is to have VBS on Sunday evenings beginning July 22 and ending August 19, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. If you can volunteer all five Sundays, or even if you can volunteer for just a few of the Sundays, your help will be greatly appreciated. Please write in the Sundays you can help when you sign your name.

If you have any input that would help with the planning or if you have questions about the time-frame of VBS, please let Ginger LeBlanc know.

WMM Spring 2007 "Love-In-Action" Project
05.14.2007

From April 29-May 27 WMM will be collecting items for the HOPE Intercultural Center in Aurora. The center is run by Southern Baptist, North American Board Missionary Anatoliy Odnoralov and serves the Russian community by providing English classes, Bible Studies, intercultural fellowships, Youth Summer Camp, assistance with relocation needs, and more. We are partnering with them by providing some basic office and fellowship needs.

Take as many labeled plastic eggs as you like from the basket on the Russian display table in the church foyer. Purchase those items and place them in the large antique trunk, which symbolizes the move to a new country, also in the foyer. If you wish, you may return the plastic egg(s) filled with loose change or a monetary donation of your choice. The monies will enable the Center to purchase larger ticket items such as coffee makers, dry erase boards, furniture, printer cartridges, etc. A large plastic jar labeled “Eggs-Change” is by the trunk.
Spacebo! (thank you in Russian)

The Truth Project
02.24.2007

The Truth Project
Sundays, March 4-June 10
5:00-6:15 p.m.

The Truth Project is a DVD-based curriculum comprise of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.

In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.

Because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life’s ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation.

To counter this slide within the body of Christ, we are offering Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project. If you want more information, see www.thetruthproject.org
or Jay Moyers, study leader.

Women's Winter Bible Study
01.08.2007

“Living Beyond Yourself”
by Beth Moore

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23

The study will begin on Monday, January 8, at 7:00 p.m.

It’s a powerful resource that will equip believers to come to know the freedom of a life filled with peace, joy, gentleness, and other positive characteristics (Gal. 5:22-23). By encouraging participants to develop and maintain an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God, this study will help them to nurture and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in their daily lives. Mission to Biloxi - 09.27.05
09.28.2005

The campus at Bay Vista Baptist Church has become the hub of Biloxi, MS for disaster relief, truly an instrument for spreading God’s Grace. People from all over the city are coming to Bay Vista for food, water and supplies – they also receive kindness, love and hope. There have been over 60 professions of faith on and off the campus.

Chain (as in chain saw) Gang

The ARBC team is clearing the yard of fallen trees and debris for a dear old Biloxi resident. She is probably over 80 years old and full of life.

There are well over 75 volunteers from all over the country working at Bay Vista Baptist Church this week. Our team is safe, eating well (Tyson brought in a trailer full of frozen chickens) and staying in a Dance Studio near the church.

Easter Morning Suggestions
03.30.2004

We expect to have a large crowd with us for our one Easter Sunday morning worship service. Below are listed a few "logistical suggestions" that will help our church facilities accommodate a larger than normal attendance.

  1. Arrive early for Sunday School and/or worship.
  2. Park farther away from the building and allow guests and latecomers to have quicker access. Consider carpooling with family members or friends.
  3. Do not congregate in the immediate entrance doors to the building or sanctuary.
  4. Voluntarily sit in the balcony or overflow seating ares (room at the back of the sanctuary that is wired with sound).
  5. When selecting a pew choose one near the front. Fill the middle of all pews first. Reserve the ends of the pews and the back seats for those arriving later.

Elevator Fundraiser
09.30.2003

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

I would like to thank you again for all of your support from the Elevator Fundraiser. This past summer at Missionfuge, our group experienced a sincere growth in their relationship with God and each other. Honestly, I have never experienced the ripple effect I have seen from this mission trip. Thank you for your prayer and financial support and I'm grateful to report to you that our youth ministry is healthier than it has been since I've been here. The growth that has taken place spiritually and numerically is completely a God thing but your support has been noticed and I believe God has used each of you to help transform this ministry into a vibrant, exciting, relevant ministry to teenagers. Thanks so much. I'm certain all my chaperones fully agree with me and they thank you too for making this trip possible for them. You have thanked us for the Day of Celebration we have just had but really the thanks belongs to you.

Sincerely, Lee O'Briant
