Evangelism training for the "Taste of Colorado"
08.10.2010

The evangelism training for the "Taste of Colorado" will be this Saturday, 8/14 from 9:00a-12:30p. at ARBC. Ron Clement, the evangelism coordinator for Colorado Southern Baptists will conduct the training. Ron has some good ideas about turning a conversation to the Lord. It would be good to come to the training even if you cannot participate in the "Taste of Colorado."

Have you wanted to share the good news with others, but didn't know how to steer the conversation to spiritual matters?
Are you reluctant to share your faith with others and even strangers?

Here is an exciting opportunity for you to learn conversational evangelism. Then over the Labor Day weekend, you will be able to put your learning into practice. You will be teamed up with a veteran evangelist who will coach you, giving opportunities and pointers.
Talking with those you have never met has wonderful advantages. You can try your conversational evangelism skills with someone you have never seen and may not see again. Yet, it is God who uses you and calls the sinner to repentance.
Your availability to share the gospel will be a seed that could lead to eternal life.
Come to the training on 8/14 to start an exciting journey with Jesus Christ.

Sharing the good news is infectious and leads to the joy of the Lord.

Blessings
The Evangelism Team

To God be the Glory
06.24.2010

It seems that people were truly and deeply blessed by the 50th Anniversary Celebration. The fellowship was warm and sweet, and we want to say again, “thank you” to everyone, and there are so many, who worked to make the weekend a wonderful time of remembering what God has done for us these past 50 years as well as looking forward to what He will do in the future. “Nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37).

About 60 people came for the reception on Saturday morning, and about 40 came for the “Youth” Pizza Party. There were 411 at our first service Sunday morning, and 171 at the afternoon service.

It is not too late to order your Memory Book ($5), which will include testimonies from the weekend, new and old pictures, a detailed history of ARBC, its people and more. Just call the church office. We would love to include your impressions about the celebration. Please write a brief paragraph and turn it into the church office, or give it to Mary Anne Burk. The same holds true for any pictures you may have taken over the weekend.

Our new cookbook turned out beautifully, and we still have plenty for sale ($15).

We wanted to specifically thank a few people, in addition to those who were mentioned on the back of the weekend’s program, namely, those who assisted at the registration table and those who were greeters, the many who contributed pictures and memorabilia, our speakers: Francis Wilson, Ron Brown, Bob Ryan, Jack McCaskill, Kathy Peterson and Dave Elliott. We were so proud of our Gloryland Men’s Quartet, the Adult Choir, Eldon Brown on cornet, and Kent McDowell, who sang to thrill our hearts. As always, we appreciate Dolores Sears and Diane Weston serving in their positions as organist and pianist, respectively. Finally, many of you prayed for the weekend, and that is perhaps the most important work of all. Thank you all!

God Speaking - A Christmas Musical
12.01.2009

It's probably safe to say that Christmas is everyone's favorite time of the year, but it's also the time of year when life moves faster, stress is greater, and the chaos of the season can easily drown out the voice of the Prince of Peace. It is this time of year, more than any other, that we need to stop and hear God Speaking.

God Speaking reminds us that, from the very beginning of time, all our failures and fears were on the heart of God as He sent His only Son to bring us hope and the confidence necessary to live life to the fullest.

Join us on December 13 at the morning service - 10:35AM, as together we pause for these few moments to listen to the voice of God Speaking.

09.03.2009

Sundays 4:15 PM - 6:15 PM for 10 weeks starting 09.20.09 thru 11.22.09.

Many people are experiencing financial challenges, but did you know that the Bible contains 2,350 verses dealing with money? Many have been taught what the Bible says about how to handle 10 percent of their income—about the area of giving—and though this is crucial, we all need to understand God’s perspective of managing the rest of our money as well.

In only 10 weeks, this study teaches us to use money in eternally significant ways that benefit us as individuals and the church as a whole. It is the number one resource for transforming the mind and heart of an individual regarding attitudes about money.

TeamKid restarts Feb 15th
02.15.2004

TeamKid is a recreation-based discipleship club for children in grades kindergarten through 6th. TeamKid is designed for children to do more than memorize Scripture! It helps children understand what the verse they memorize means, because all parts of the TeamKid meeting focus on one Bible message. The noncompetitive games, Bible story, and memory verse all contribute to help children understand and apply God's Word to their lives.

TeamKid meets every Sunday at 5:15pm.

How to Raise Support for Mission Trips
01.11.2004

God frequently calls and leads His children to go overseas on mission trips, and God always comes through with needed financial support for those who fully and faithfully respond to His call. Jim Walters is one of the Pastors at Bear Valley Church in Lakewood. He has made 40 short-term mission trips overseas. He will be speaking on Sunday, January 18, at ARBC from 5:00-6:15pm in room 200 on "How to Raise Support for Mission Trips." Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few..." (Luke 10:2). He didn't say, 'there's not enough money,' He said, "there's not enough workers!" Come learn how you can be a part of our mission trip to help our missionaries Ron and Robin Brown, June 9-19, 2004.

10.27.2003

January 8, 2004, 6:30-8:00pm, in the Church Parlor

Beyond Belief to Convictions By Josh McDowell and Bob Hostetler

Beyond Belief to Convictions gives us a clear plan for grounding ourselves in a solid relationship with Christ and for unlocking the answers to the fundamental questions of life itself:

Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going?

When we embrace the Person of Truth, we will be fortified spiritually, morally, and emotionally to stand strong in the face of today’s culture.

Beyond Belief to Convictions is available at Lifeway Christian Bookstore (Colorado Blvd and I-25).

A list of questions is available in the Media Center and also available for download here to help prepare you for a productive book discussion.

We are really excited to have this opportunity to discuss this book as a group and gain understandings about the culture we live in and how we can better relate to people who are having similar issues but have no answers.

Operation Christmas Child
10.21.2003

It’s time for “Operation Christmas Child” Once again this year we at
ARBC are providing you with a unique opportunity to share the love of
Jesus with a needy child by using a simple shoe box! Your shoe box gift
will reach a child in a troubled country with the Gospel message. We are
taking part in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse,
the Christian relief and evangelism ministry led by Franklin Graham. People
across the country are filling shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies,
and other gifts. A needy child overseas can receive your shoe box gift,
hand delivered, along with Christian literature in his or her own language.
What an opportunity to reach these children with a clear presentation
of the Gospel! Complete details are in the Operation Christmas Child brochure,
available on the bulletin board. I hope you will be a part of this opportunity
to share God’s love with a needy child.
