2007 VBS Volunteer Postins05.14.2007
There is a sign up poster on the bulletin board in the preschool area hallway. Please sign up ASAP if you would like to help with VBS this year. We need to know how many volunteers we will have so that we can begin serious planning for VBS. Right now the plan is to have VBS on Sunday evenings beginning July 22 and ending August 19, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. If you can volunteer all five Sundays, or even if you can volunteer for just a few of the Sundays, your help will be greatly appreciated. Please write in the Sundays you can help when you sign your name. If you have any input that would help with the planning or if you have questions about the time-frame of VBS, please let Ginger LeBlanc know. Posted by arbc at 07:59 AM | Comments (0)

WMM Spring 2007 "Love-In-Action" Project05.14.2007
From April 29-May 27 WMM will be collecting items for the HOPE Intercultural Center in Aurora. The center is run by Southern Baptist, North American Board Missionary Anatoliy Odnoralov and serves the Russian community by providing English classes, Bible Studies, intercultural fellowships, Youth Summer Camp, assistance with relocation needs, and more. We are partnering with them by providing some basic office and fellowship needs. Take as many labeled plastic eggs as you like from the basket on the Russian display table in the church foyer. Purchase those items and place them in the large antique trunk, which symbolizes the move to a new country, also in the foyer. If you wish, you may return the plastic egg(s) filled with loose change or a monetary donation of your choice. The monies will enable the Center to purchase larger ticket items such as coffee makers, dry erase boards, furniture, printer cartridges, etc. A large plastic jar labeled “Eggs-Change” is by the trunk. May 2007 INCHWESTA05.14.2007
We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who attended the INCHWESTA dinner and silent auction. It was a huge success thanks to the generosity shown by all of you. Also a special thanks to all the Sunday school departments for putting together amazing baskets! All of them were great, thanks for the time and effort! When everything was said and done the youth raised a little over $1,400! This money will be used for both the World Changers mission trip to Gallup, New Mexico, in June, as well as to help with youth outreach events. Thanks again to everyone. We all appreciate your generous support! Continue reading "May 2007 INCHWESTA" Posted by arbc at 07:32 AM | Comments (0)
May 200705.14.2007
Our church Cook will cease preparing our Wednesday night meals on May 23. She is expecting a little girl this summer. She cannot juggle the new baby along with her other job, two other kids and Wil! Ha! Thank you, Melissa, for your service to Jesus and His people over these five years. Now, what about the Wednesday night meals? Who will prepare them or what are we going to do? Quite honestly, I do not yet know! The Church Council is looking into this. They have talked about several options. If you attend the Wednesday night meals and have an idea, talk to Mark. Mark will bring your ideas to the Church Council for consideration. You may even come to the monthly Church Council meeting and present your idea. Please pray for the Church Council as they struggle to find God’s direction! I told the Church Council that no matter which of the options out there we choose, we will still need someone to coordinate and give leadership to this ministry. I am wondering if there is someone who would like to give leadership to the Wednesday night meal as a volunteer ministry. If you do feel God wants you to serve His people this way, please visit with me. As I thought about the volunteer position above I began to ponder the whole notion of serving as a Christian. First, serving is delightful when you are doing a ministry in which you are gifted and enjoy. On the other hand, doing a ministry which you are not gifted to do can be drudgery. (We’ve all done these.) Posted by arbc at 07:28 AM | Comments (0)
