Holiday Worship Schedule12.20.2006
This December marks the season of Advent, the season of hopeful waiting leading up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus – the Son of God – on Christmas Day. We come alongside Mary, Joseph, and the people of God as they await the birth of their savior even as we expectantly long for his return.

12.13.06 - Youth & Parents Meeting12.11.2006
Message from Pastor Jim I would like to meet with you on December 13th at 5:30pm for a Question and Answer time about the youth ministry. Since I deeply believe our youth do not need to be without a pastor, the Personnel Team has hired a part-time interim youth director (According to the By-Laws). He and his wife will meet with the youth and parents at 6:00pm. His name is Josh Robertson and his wife’s name is Heidi. They are from Minnesota and are first year students at Denver Theological Seminary. I do not have all of the answers much less knowing all of the questions to ask. I need you to pray, think and hear the direction in which I believe we need to proceed in regard to future staffing. I hope to see you on Wednesday, December 13th, at the youth house at 5:30pm. God bless, Posted by arbc at 11:59 AM | Comments (0)

12.06.06 - Christmas Party .:. Preschool & Children's Dept.12.05.2006
The Preschool and Children’s Departments’ annual Christmas party is an opportunity for parents to shop while their children hear the Christmas story, have fun making gifts for the family, enjoy lunch and have a “Birthday Party” for Jesus. There is no cost for this activity, but we do ask the children to bring several pieces of fruit. We will be making fruit baskets. Mark your calendar for this event and plan to attend. All you need to do is sign the Activity Participation Agreement and return it to your Sunday School teacher or the church office. Posted by arbc at 01:02 PM | Comments (0)
Carols, Cookies, Cocoa - 12.17.0612.05.2006
We will gather at the Church in the Fellowship Hall and divide into caroling groups. We will strive to go to areas where our own homebound live. We may also carol in the immediate area of the church where we have been doing prayer-walking. Afterwards, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for cookies and cocoa (provided by the Adult Choir). This is an all church, all family event. Posted by arbc at 12:47 PM | Comments (0)

Gene presented the following message at the conclusion of morning worship, November 26, 2006 I have accepted a call to pastor Coronado Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. I submitted my resignation to the church and Jim accepted it on behalf of the church. My last Sunday with you will be December 10. I am sincerely grateful for the time that I have been allowed to serve you. I am honored and humbled to have had the privilege of sharing the word with you and investing a season of my life in the youth and singles of your church. Thank you very much for loving my family and me. You have taken great care of us and you will be in our prayers and memories for many years to come. May the love of God and the grace of Jesus Christ and the peace of the Holy Spirit be with you always. Gene Posted by arbc at 12:33 PM | Comments (0)
December 200612.01.2006
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Christmas season is upon us. Yes, I know that some of the stores have been “pushing” Christmas since September. But, most of us don’t start to focus on Christmas until after Thanksgiving. There are many activities at the church building this season and I hope you will find time in your busy schedule to be a part of some of these. Now, may I mention a “pet peeve” of mine? (This “pet peeve” brings out the “Scrooge” in me.) My pet peeve is the busyness of the season. This busyness seems to take away from the joy of the season. We do have lots of responsibilities. There are presents to buy and programs to attend and special services to attend and visits to be made to family and friends. I guess I truly am getting to be a “Scrooge.” You see, what I’d like is to do less and enjoy the events a little more. I find myself hustling from one event to another.
