Destination Adventure - The Arctic Edge
Training for the 2006 VBS will be held at First Southern Baptist Church, 1409 Palmer Park Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909 on March 11, 2006. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Worship Rally at 9:00 a.m. and workshop sessions from 9:45 a.m. until lunch and 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Does summer and VBS seem very distant right now? It will be here before we know it! Let’s make this year’s VBS experience the best ever. It takes a lot of planning and preparation. We will have people who are ready to show us the materials and give us great ideas along with training us in how to plan and lead a great VBS Arctic Adventure. This is a onetime opportunity for the training! Let’s plan to impact our community for Christ this year. Let’s plan and prepare for a great VBS.

Student Ministry – March 2006
03.03.2006

Dear Reader,
Let me take this opportunity to tell you about what happened in the youth ministry last month. First of all, we did our first official servanthood evangelism project. We washed 85 people’s car windows and got a wonderful response. While we were doing it we were able to share the love of Christ with several people and I got a few phone calls afterwards from people who were blessed by this simple act of kindness. We will continue to do these projects each month, both to show the love of Christ to people in practical ways and to increase awareness in the community of the presence of our church. Any of you are welcome to join us when we do these projects. Our next one is March 4.
Coming up in March we have our Oscar Night and Youth Ski Retreat. The youth also have an important fund-raising event for summer missions. The silent auction youth dinner is going to be held on Sunday, March 12, at 12:00. Please join us at this event and help us pay for X-Fuge. If you or your Sunday School class have any questions, feel free to contact me. Finally, the Thursday night young adult Bible Study is being held at both 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. to better accommodate the conflicting schedules of those who wish to attend. Thank you and good-night.
Grace and Peace,
Gene

ne Parson’s Opinion
We had some wood needing to be split to burn in our fireplace insert. So, I bought a “tool” to help split that wood.
The wood was hard! Ben split some and I split some. It took a lot of effort to break the wood apart into smaller pieces to be able to fit in our insert.
There are hearts that are very hard like that wood. Some hearts seem impenetrable. They dig their heels in and fight with all of their might to keep from changing.
The “tool” God has given to His Church to change hearts is the Word of God - the Bible. The Holy Spirit applies the Word of God and changes people. This supernatural event happens in every service.
The Holy Spirit will apply the Word of God to bring someone to salvation. The Holy Spirit also applies the Word of God to sanctify us. Each worship experience makes us a little bit more like Jesus.
