Annual Planning Meeting

August 28, 9am-Noon.

As team and committee members and deacons you have been hearing about this for some time and, hopefully, planning for it. Please come with your ministry plans and calendar requests. We will work as a group in coordinating the 2005 church calendar and recommending it on to the church in September. (Property Teams are exempt from attending.) As the church budget will be ministry based this year, it is important that you have a fairly firm understanding on what your ministry needs will cost. Those budget requests are due no later than Wednesday, September 8th.

A View from the Fields, August 2004
07.30.2004

Beverly and I hiked up to the Devil’s Tower a few weeks back while the kids were at MissionFuge. (As a matter of fact we did a lot of fun things while the kids were away in Hungary and at MissionFuge. We enjoyed then going on mission trips so much we have been checking in to them going with the Presbyterians on a trip! Ha!) Anyway, getting back to Devil’s Tower, we had a wonderful hike and the views were spectacular. But there were a few times climbing the stairs up to the tower itself that it was a bit scary.

Music Ministry News, July 2004
07.03.2004

The O’Briants
What a thrill it has been to work with Lee and Shawna in our music ministry. As our church pianist, Shawna has exemplified the rare combination of true talent and a genuine Christian spirit. Working alongside her at each rehearsal and worship service has been a joy. Lee has led us in worship on the guitar and made those worship songs even more meaningful. We are excited for their opportunities of continued service in North Carolina and know that God will provide for the worship and music needs at ARBC.

Lee O'Briant's Resignation
07.03.2004

Lee presented the following message the conclusion of morning worship, June 27, 2004:

ATTENTION: Pastor Jim (The Personnel Team, and the Church Body of Arapahoe Road),

For many of us here God has taken us down roads that seemed hard to accept. Maybe a road that seemed uncertain, dangerous, or sometimes even crazy. Well, God has taken me down many roads in my life that seemed muddy along the way but somehow became crystal clear once the road had been taken.

A View from the Fields, July 2004
07.03.2004

One Pastor’s Opinion,

Well, by now, you know the news! Gordon O’Briant (Lee) has resigned! God is moving Lee back to North Carolina.

Lee, Shawna and the kids will be missed by all of the church. Lee has been the youth director at ARBC for eight years. Eight years is an unusually long time for Southern Baptist youth directors to stay in one place. So, let’s rejoice that the Lord Jesus gave Lee to ARBC for eight years. This is a new and exciting opportunity for Lee and his family. I trust you will rejoice with them and be excited for them.
