Lee O'Briant Ordination

Lee will be ordained to the gospel ministry on Sunday, June 20th. An ordination council of deacons and ministers will meet at 5:00pm. The service wil begin at 6:30pm. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Welcome our New Financial Secretary

Joanna Troyansky has begun her new duties as the church's financial secretary.

Paula Gonzales has done an admirable job these past three years as our church's financial secretary. However, because her multiple other jobs are consuming more and more of her time, she has recently submitted her resignation. At May's business meeting it was announced by the Personnel Team that Joanna Troyansky has been hired to fill the position of financial secretary. After a brief time of training and set up, Joanna's office hours will normally be Tuesday and Thursday mornings and all day Wednesday.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is June 21-25, 2004!

Who: Children ages 4 through entering into 6th grade

What: VBS Far-Out Far East Adventure of the Rickshaw Rally: Racing to the Son

When: 9:00am to 12 Noon, Monday-Friday

Activities will include Bible learning, missions, crafts, recreation, music, refreshments and much, much more.

VBS Scripture:
In a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize. You know that, don't you? So run in a way that will get you the prize. (1 Corinthians 9:24)

Our 10 ARBC Missionaries going to Hungary in June need to take some items with them for the ministries with which they are going to be involved.

Golf Tournament

Attention: ARBC Golfers!

2004 Church Golf Tournament and Picnic

Sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary across from the elevator. Sign up will continue through May 23. The tournament is scheduled for June 12 at 10:00am at Littleton Golf & Tennis Center. The picnic is going to be at the Sheridan Shelter starting at 2:30pm. Rates for the tournament are $55 with cart / $43 without cart. They are per person and include green fees, cart, and an $8 gift certificate, which will be pooled and divided among the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd foursomes. Tournament is open to members and non-members. We are asking for an $8 donation per family to help defray the expense of the picnic. If you have any questions contact Jim Priddy at 303.471.2137.

Prison Book Project

An excellent project has been brought to our attention. It involves donating Christian books to the Prison Book Project. This is a ministry that is reaching thousands of men and women who are processed through the jail and prison system throughout the United States. Prisoners read! They need good Christian books to read! If you have some Christian books that you would like to donate, contact Earlena Barbee in the Media Center for more information. Two boxes of books have already been sent.

Extended Session

We are currently enlisting workers to assist in the nursery with the extended session during the worship service. Volunteers would serve once every two months. Numerous people have agreed to help but a list of approximately 50 people is needed for the "once every two months" to work most effectively. Give Ginger a call.

Children's Choirs Update

The two children's choirs that met from January-May were "successful" enough that we will implement those ministries again this fall. Let me say thank you to my wife, Kimberly, and daughter, Stephanie, for their great work with the Music Time Choir. In addition, thank you to Dolores Sears, Katy Vogel and Joanna Troyansky who assisted mein Music Makers Choir. Your skills and dedications are greatly appreciated.

The Music Maker Choir (grades 1-6) will be singing Mother's Day morning, May 9. Children will practice in the auditorium at 8:30am.

Orchestra

On Sunday, May 16, we will have various members of our congregation form an orchestra that will accompany several hymns. Music will be mailed out the first week of May. We will rehearse Wednesday night, May 12, from 8pm-9pm. If you can play an instrument and have not been contacted, please let me know and I will get you some music. Hopefully, we will hear from this group on a monthly basis.

Garage Sale Youth Fundraiser

May 29th from 7am - 2pm

For some of you, this is your favorite time of the year because you can rid yourself of all that unused stuff cluttering up your home! And, we're anxious to help you get that done. It's a win-win situation.

Donate unwanted items to our youth garage sale fundraiser. Donations are tax-deductible (get details before donating from the financial secretary), and will help send our youth on an incredible mission trip called Mission Fuge in St Louis, MO in early July.

Contact the church office (Connie or Lee) to arrance a drop off of your donated items at the youth house or if you need some items picked up. And, thanks so much!

A View from the Fields, May 2004

As you read this, our Spring Bible Conference is history. Paul Burleson has been used greatly in my life to teach me some of the ways of God. I trust you were able to attend the services and God intersected your life during these days and taught you some of the ways of God. I'd like to have Paul back next Spring. We'll be talking about it.
