I love this time of year. Football is starting, baseball is headed for the playoffs, the weather is cooling off with a hint of fall, the aspen are turning their beautiful golden color, and football is starting. Did I already say that? When I was a kid, September also meant “Back to school.” Now days many children have been in school for almost a month! Here at ARBC there is a lot going on in September. We have our mission trip to Hungary. New discipleship classes are beginning. We have elected a Pastor Search Team. We usually think of springtime as the season of new things but not in church life. We start new things after Labor Day, too! I wonder if the Lord has something new that He would like to start in your life. Maybe it is adding Bible study to your Sunday morning. Possibly it is attending one of the classes being offered on Sunday nights or during the week. Could it be sharing a word about Jesus with a lost family member or friend? Or getting that quiet time going on a regular basis after a busy summer? It might even be honoring God with your tithes and offerings taken from the “first fruits” instead of the leftovers of your paycheck! Would you be willing to ask the Lord to do something new in your life this month? Who knows what exciting thing He will do to bring glory to Himself and be a blessing for you?
