What if? The students have just finished a series of lessons on Sunday mornings entitled: “Wanted: Servants — Pew Warmers Need Not Apply.” We spent five weeks looking at the life of Christ and how He served others and in turn calls us to be servants. Philippians 2:3-4 states, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” WOW. What if ARBC was characterized by that verse? Can you imagine what ARBC would be like if everyone truly considered others as better than themselves? I believe that this church would be a different place. I believe it would be a river in the middle of the desert where people could come and experience an attitude, a love, and a concern for others that cannot be experienced anywhere else. A place where, when one person is hurting, no matter who that person is, the body surrounds and loves on them. A place where every time a need is known, it is met just as fast. A place where people don’t come just to get, but a place where people come to give. A place where the love of Christ permeates everything that is done. A place where lives are changed because for the first time people are seeing, experiencing, and feeling the love of Jesus Christ! What if ARBC is that place? Can ARBC be that place? Will you begin to make ARBC that place? Posted by arbc at 05:06 PM |
