I would thank all of you for the “hoot” it has been to be the pastor at ARBC. I would thank you for your encouragement, your prayers, your friendship and my salary. Yet, what I would want you to understand deep down inside, is that God is not mad at you. He loves you in Christ. He took the punishment for all of your sins. Really—all of them are paid for! He knows all about you and all that you have done (yes, even that is paid for!), and He loves you, likes you, and accepts you in Christ. His love for you is not dependent on your behavior—it’s dependent on His character. His love is manifest in what the Scripture calls mercy and grace. Mercy is not getting what we deserve, and grace is getting much, much more than what we do deserve. Yes, this is what I’d try to convey to you if this were my last article. The Lord loves you. He really does! Why not take a moment and go to “Papa” and tell Him “thank you;” tell Him how grateful you are, and He won’t even mind if you spend time telling Him about those worries and cares you are bearing. Oh, by the way, this is not my last article, as far as I know, but our next Business Meeting will be March 16, and you never know! See you on the Lord’s Day! Posted by arbc at 08:36 AM |
