Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas is a wonderful season of the year. I love the festivities, the decorations, the presents (remember, I take a “large”), the joy, remembering the birth of Jesus, the food, the family get-togethers, the special movies and more. I love it all!

When I was a kid I would make a Christmas “wish list.” My folks would then pick three gifts off of the list to give me for Christmas. First, a costly gift, then one that didn’t cost very much, and then a least expensive one.

It’s been years since I have made a “wish list.” My family will ask me for some things I want for Christmas, and I am hard pressed to come up with a list.

How about you? When asked, “What would you like for Christmas?” how do you respond?

Do you respond by saying, “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”? Or, is it the resolution that, “I’m Getting Nuttin’ for Christmas”?

Dream with me! If you could have what you really want for Christmas, what would you ask to receive?

Let me prime the pump! Would you ask for a new car, a new house, a new job, a new mate, to win the lottery, a new wagon, new power tools, a new sofa, a new china cabinet?

Are you dreaming with me now? Of course, you realize I am “leading the witness”!

If you were asked by Jesus, as He asked the blind man by the road, “What do you want me to do for you?” what would you say?

I am learning the answer is for Jesus to be real to me in life. I can take whatever comes in life if I have Him. As I grow older, it’s not the “stuff” I yearn for, it’s Him.

My wish for this hour is for Jesus to be “real” to me. This is my wish for you, too!

See you on the Lord’s Day!
Jim
