Student Ministry – January 2006

Dear Readers and Fans,

I always wonder every New Year if this is the year that Jesus will return. Even if he does not, there will still be a lot of good things that will happen in 2006. The youth are going to have a Disciple Now Weekend in February. There is a conference coming in April that is geared towards the young adults of our Sunday school class and Bible Study. The youth will be going to San Diego for M-Fuge in July. These are just a few of the things that will be going on in the coming year.

The primary prayer that I have for 2006 is that the people of our church and community would realize the full reality of their sin and so come to understand, as much as possible, the full reality of their salvation. I believe that it is very hard for someone who understands the magnitude of their sin and along with that the magnitude of God’s grace to have difficulty being united with their fellow believers. What could possibly keep believers apart when they understand the lengths to which God went to keep us from being apart from him? I wish for this New Year that God would remind us of His grace and renew our love, so that as Jesus prayed, the whole world will know that God has sent Him and has loved us even as He loved Him.
