Asian American Ministry Prayer Requests and Report
1) Praise God for a very fruitful fellowship gathering at Pastor Paul Lin’s home on August 20th in Greenwood Village. In addition to the variety of delicious Asian food we also had very good “koinonia” among our brothers and sisters in Christ and invited guests.
2) Praise God for good spiritual growth in our Sunday school class. Please continue to pray for the expansion of this class and the following members: Paul Lin (teacher), Lily Lin (director), Yukie Tomooka, Harumi Tomooka, Dora Sorongon Tiu, Cara Tiu, Carl Tiu, Jed Liu, Darren Englen, and Del Englen. This class meets every Sunday 9:30 – 10:15 AM in the church lower level Prayer Room.
3) Please pray for the following prospects: a) Mikako, a Japanese American woman, who participated in our fellowship meal on August 20th and received encouragement and gospel message from Pastor Perkins; b) Hyung Yim, a Korean American young man, who saw our church website and attended our Sunday morning worship on August 21st; c) Narie Kim, a Korean young lady, who used to attend our church youth group.
4) We are planning to have a Saturday field trip to visit the Focus on the Family Ministry and Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in September. This will be an outreach event to invite non-Christian friends from the Asian Pacific American community to form relationships with our ministry. Please pray for those (around 20 people) who will participate in the trip.
5) Grace Lin will return to Boston University on August 31st to finish her final school year. We thank her for her help in our church music ministry this summer. We will see Grace at her college graduation next May in Boston. God bless her for a bright future.
6) Pray for Oscar Tiu’s, MD, smooth application process for his U.S. permanent resident status and his upcoming hospital residency/fellowship opportunities in Denver in this coming fall.
7) Please continue to pray for Dora Tiu’s, MD, medical training here in Denver and her receiving the certification to practice medicine in the U.S. as a respiratory specialist.
8) Congratulations to Cara Tiu. She’s now a freshman at the University of Denver. God bless her for a bright future.
8) Please also pray for Tim Lin’s study and internship at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He’s a junior at UA and heavily involved in the Navigators’ campus ministry there.
