Music Ministry Update
02.26.2004
March always seems to be an unusual time in planning worship. The short humdrum midwinter days appear to be coming to an end. (Although March is generally a heavy snow month and can drastically affect church attendance). Easter is not quite here yet. And it seems that everyone who has school-aged children are trying to find time for a Spring Break vacation. However, let me encourage you not to forget about worship! There is nothing quite like coming together with Christian brothers and sisters to praise God and to hear from him!
March morning worship highlights include:
- Pastor Jim preaching about the life of Christ
- Our mission efforts in North America
- The ongoing Gideon Bible ministry
- Encouraging and uplifting music from the choir and praise team
- Special guest soloists
Speaking of worship:
“HOW TO STAY SAFE IN THE WORLD TODAY”
- Avoid riding in automobiles because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents.
- Do not stay home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home.
- Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks because 14% of all accidents occur to pedestrians.
- Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water because 16% of all accidents involve these forms of transportation.
- Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in hospitals. Above all else, avoid hospitals.
- You will be please to learn that only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are usually related to previous physical disorders
Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time is at
church!
