A View from the Fields, Jan '04
01.10.2004

Congratulations to Mark Corzine! As you know by now, the church called Mark to be our Music/Administration Minister. He began January 1, 2004. I look forward to working more closely with Mark and getting to know him and his family. If you have not had the opportunity to meet Kim (Mark’s wife), you need to know Mark married above himself! (Certainly I did, and come to think of it, there’s no question about Lee either! Ha!)

Happy New Year! It will be an interesting year. We have stepped out in faith believing we are responding to the activity of God in two significant areas; the budget and the calling of mark Corzine. Time will tell! We’ll flex as needed!

I like beginnings! In league bowling if I had bowled badly the first game, there was always hope by getting another chance the second game. I got the opportunity to begin again. And of course, the third game was an opportunity to begin anew if I blew it in both the first and second game.

We are at the start of a new year. If I were you I’d see this as an opportunity to start again. Our gracious Lord is one who loves to give second chances. If you’ve blown it, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start over again.

Using the language of Zion; go to the Lord, confess your sins and shortcomings, ask forgiveness and ask Him for grace (the gasoline) to empower you to be all God is calling you to be in 2004.

Some of you wonderful saints have carried failures of the past on your back for years. It’s time for a new beginning. It’s time to let the weight drop off your back. Receive the forgiveness that is yours already because of the cross. Begin to live like a forgiven person!

Remember: 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Remember: Proverbs 28:13 – He who conceals his sins does not progress, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

In 2004 I hope you will breathe the rarified air of the land of beginning again.

God Bless,
Jim
